KFA Holds Meeting Today to Discuss New Head Coach Candidates

According to reports from Korean media outlet Naver, the Korean Football Association (KFA) is convening a meeting today to select the new head coach for the national team. While the meeting won't directly finalize the candidate, it aims to narrow down the field of potential new coaches.

Earlier this year, Klinsmann was dismissed due to poor performance and ineffective management, and Korean Olympic team coach Hwang Sun-hong took over as interim head coach, leading the team in two national team matches in March.

In early April, the KFA announced that a list of 11 candidates, including four Koreans and seven foreigners, had been selected as potential new head coaches for the Korean national team. Currently, the KFA has conducted remote video interviews with seven foreign candidates. KFA officials stated that the content and specific evaluations of the interviews would be reported during today's meeting to further narrow down the candidate pool, with the aim of formally confirming the selection in May.

Reportedly, the candidates for the new head coach include former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa, French women's national team coach Corinne Diacre, and Turkish coach Okan Buruk, who previously managed FC Seoul.
